We’ve said Goodbye to 2016 and Hello to 2017, and already it has been yet another very busy year for Electric Aura, working on a variety of their signature large-scale events; throughout Canada and abroad.

A selection of the best-of has now made its way into the Electric Aura Projects Portfolio:

We Day Spring 2016/17

Vito Amati We Day NY

For the 4th year in a row Jason McKinnon designed for We-Day!  – the star-studded youth empowerment celebration featuring a mix of diverse motivational speakers, entertainment and live music.

With performances as varied as the venues; from bands such as The Vamps, to The Pacific Northwest Ballet, it was essential that the production design be flexible to accommodate and adapt to each venue and performances’ requirements.

This tour added a show at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York. Other venues on the 7-month long tour included Wembley Arena in the UK, Seattle, Chicago, Saskatoon and Montreal.  Check out the photos in our We Day 2017 gallery here.

Grey Cup Halftime Show

The neon-lit halftime performance by multi-platinum rockers OneRepublic during the Freedom Mobile Grey Cup Halftime Show attracted an average audience of 3.5 million viewers. –

In 2016 Rob Sondergaard and Electric Aura continued their successful design for another amazing Grey Cup Halftime Show.   The 104th Grey Cup featured a performance by One Republic, and according to the CFL, overall there was 10 million unique viewers…tuning in to TSN and RDS.  The Half Time Show continues to be part of the country’s biggest television events, attracting an average audience of 3.5 million viewers.  Check out the amazing pics from the event in our Grey Cup 2016 portfolio here.

Broadcast  – The Bachelorette Canada

No stranger to being seen by millions for their large scale events, Electric Aura Projects also design for popular TV Shows.

Jason McKinnon has extensive experience as Lighting Director for broadcast television, and during the 2016 season of  The Bachelorette Canada, he made the credits as Lighting Director on 3 parts of the hit show:

  • The After Show (9 half hour episodes)
  • The Men Tell All – Special Episode
  • After the Final Rose – Special Episode

The team is gearing up for a big summer festival season – do contact us if you have any queries about these shows or new events on the horizon.
