Jason hails from Australia were he started in the industry as many others did, doing the lighting for school plays. On the weekends he spent his time sweeping the floor at Clearlight Shows where he eventually got a full time job upon his graduation from high school.

From there, Jason became a lighting assistant and eventually a lighting director for Australia 's largest TV network GTV-9 . It was here that he honed his skills on a variety of shows such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire , The Price is Right , Starstruck , Hey Hey it's Saturday as well as many other large broadcasts including Carols by Candlelight , and The Logie Awards to name a few. Jason also lit a number of different sporting events including commentary boxes for Cricket and the Formula One Grand Prix.

In addition to TV, Jason worked as a Gaffer and Best Boy on such films as Water Rats , Halifax FP , Pig's Breakfast , and Return of the Silver Shadow .

One of the highlights of Jason's career came in 2000 when he was given the opportunity by Bytecraft to be a console operator for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Sydney Olympics .

In 2001 Jason moved to Vancouver , Canada to be with his future wife. Jason immediately joined the Christie Lites team as a senior console operator and crew chief. While working for Christie Lites , Jason traveled extensively across North America working on a variety of shows in the corporate, rock and roll, and broadcast fields.

In 2004 Jason joined Electric Aura, collaborating with Robert Sondergaard to design a scene for the feature film Catwoman.  In 2006 he ventured back into motion pictures working on the Christmas hit Deck the Halls, creating the lighting and video design for the house at the centre of the movie.

Jason has maintained a strong focus on broadcast lighting design. Some of his high profile credits include the 2007 TELUS Sales Conference, the EnergyNews.com TV Studios, the TED Conference, Maralee Dawn and Friends, the Alberta Centennial Celebrations Broadcast, the 2005 Grey Cup Half Time Show and TV Lighting Director for Imagine 2010 – Launch of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics emblem.
